Story of Santa Claus & his reindeer (photo)

According to a legend, Santa Claus lives in Rovaniemi, Finland. His house, however, is located in a secret and very isolated place called Korvatunturi.

In Finnish, it means “Ear Mountain” because it’s shaped like two huge bunny ears. That’s where Santa can hear every single word all the children say all over the world. That’s how he decides which children deserve his gifts!

The elves are Santa’s loyal helpers. They make gifts that they are assigned to make. Then, they will put the gifts on Santa’s famous sled, which are pulled by the nine faithful reindeer.

Each reindeer has it’s own name and personality. We have listed all the nine reindeers here:

1) Dasher – captain of the reindeer team.

2) Rudolph – the world-famous red-nose reindeer

3) Donder – thinks she should be the captain of the reindeer team.

4) Comet – got his name as he flies very high! He once flew so high that he collided with a comet!

5) Blitzen – his antlers always point north.

6) Dancer – is Prancer’s twin sister.

7) Prancer – like her twin sister, loves to dance.

8.) Vixen – is the most graceful and acrobatic reindeer.

9) Cupid – has been married to Vixen for more than two centuries.
